Abstract [sv]

I den här studien intervjuas nio relativt nyanställda medarbetare på ett företag inom bemanningsbranschen om deras upplevelse av att komma ny in i en stark organisationskultur. Det företag som varit föremål för studien har en erkänt starkt organisationskultur som präglar vardagen på arbetsplatsen och de personer vi intervjuat har varit anställda av företaget i mellan 3 till 18 månader.

Syftet med studien är dels att undersöka medarbetares upplevelse av att socialiseras in i en stark organisationskultur, dels i vilken utsträckning man internaliserat kulturella normer och värderingar.

Resultatet av studien visar att respondenterna i olika utsträckning tagit till sig organisationskulturen och upplever att de trivs och passar in i den men även att det varit en process att socialiseras in den nya kulturen. Slutligen diskuteras även betydelsen person-organisation passning, alltså värdekongruensen mellan den anställde och organisationen, som en viktig förutsättning för organisatoriskt engagemang, arbetstillfredsställelse och intention att stanna i företaget.

Abstract [en]

In this study nine relatively new employees within a staffing company were interviewed about their experience of entering into a strong organizational culture. The company that was subject to the study has a recognized strong organizational culture that characterizes the daily life at the workplace. The people we interviewed had been employed between 3 to 18 months.

The purpose of the study is to investigate employees' experience of socializing into a strong organizational culture, and to what extent they have internalized cultural norms and values.

The result of the study shows that the respondents to different extents have embraced the organizational culture and feel comfortable with it, even though socializing into the new culture has been a process. Finally there is a discussion about the importance of person - organization fit as a significant requisite for organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and intent to stay in the company.
